How does an Access Controller or Spot Checker use the forgotten card function in the Web Card Reader?
An Access Controller or Spot Checker can use the forgotten card function to swipe in a cardholder should they not have their RIW card available.
This instruction applies to the following RIW System User Roles:
- Spot Checker
Step 3: Swipes tab
Once logged in, to swipe in a cardholder, select the Swipes tab from the top menu.
Step 8: Swipe in options
Click the Swipe In button to present a set of card read options:
- QR Code (Camera) - scan the QR code on a cardholder’s physical/virtual card or a visitor pass using a web cam or the mobile device’s camera;
- QR Code (Scanner) - scan the QR code on a cardholder’s physical/virtual card or visitor pass using a QR code gun. This option is not available on mobile devices;
- Forgotten Card - search for a cardholder’s card using key information.
Step 9: Forgotten card option
Should a cardholder have forgotten their RIW card, they can still be swiped in via the Forgotten Card option by entering the cardholder’s surname, initial and either their RIW number or their date of birth.
Enter the required details and click Find. Once found, the cardholder’s details will be displayed to allow the Access Controller to update the fatigue information. Click the Swipe In button to record a swipe in for the cardholder at the current location
