How to view System Message Templates - Vircarda

This article details how to view the shared email templates, which are the template notifications sent on email to RIW System users and Rail Industry Workers. 

For more information on the type of notifications sent, refer to What notifications are generated by the RIW System?

You are only able to view the shared email templates, not edit them.  If content needs to be updated, please contact MTA.

This instruction applies to the following user roles:

  • Helpdesk


Go to and log in using your credentials.


Go to Administration > Shared Email Templates.


By default, all shared email templates will display. Use the search fields to narrow the search, such as specifying the System,  Subject or Name. You can order the columns ascending and descending by clicking on the column and pointing the arrow up or down.

The table displays
  • Report Name.
  • System Name - which system the notification is generated from.
  • Subject - the subject used when the email is sent.
  • Active - whether the email template is currently active or not active.
  • Recipients - who the notification is sent to.
  • Frequency - whether it is periodic or triggered by action.
  • When Sent - what action needs to be performed for the notification to be sent.
  • Date created - when the notification was created.
  • Date modified - when the notification was last modified.

You can export the list of notifications to a *.CSV file by clicking on Export.


To view the notification content, click on a notification from the list and View.
