How can a cardholder view competencies on myRIW?


This article details how a you can view your competencies and monitor their expiry in myRIW.



This instruction applies to the following user roles:

  • Rail Industry Worker (myRIW)

Go to https://app.riw.net.au/MySkillGuard/Account/LogOn and log in using your credentials, which is your RIW number and password. 


If you have not yet created your account, please follow the instructions in How does a cardholder create a myRIW profile?

Click on View My Profile on the home dashboard.

On the My Profile screen, you can use the left-hand menu to access your personal details, job roles, competencies, medicals, drug & alcohol screenings, breathalyser results and swipe history.

To view your competencies, click on the relevant type of competency, such as National or Network.


In example below, National competencies awarded to the cardholder are displayed, including the competency code, competency name, expiry date and reason, which is whether the competency is valid, expired, rejected or pending verification with the RIW Service Desk.



You can sort the competency columns by clicking on the arrows next to the table headings. In this example, competencies with an expiry date are listed first.


Also, competencies that are no longer valid, for example if they have expired), will show in red.

To view the actual competency evidence, click on the Evidence button next to the competency name.


On the pop-up, click on Open to view the attachment, which will open in a new window. You can download or print the evidence as required.
