Understanding the Site Eligibility Check - You have authority to work at a site



The myRIW platform enables Rail Industry Workers to verify their Authority to Work at any RIW site. This is assessed by comparing the worker’s current profile information against the specific access requirements set for that site within the RIW system.


This article explains how to interpret the outcome of a successful Site Eligibility Check, where the worker is authorised to work at the site. This is confirmed by the display of the following status:

  • Rail Industry Worker (myRIW)

If you are authorised to work at a site, the following information will be displayed:

Site Details & Worker Requirements



Site Details will contain the following information: 


  • Site Name (Site Code)
  • Network Name
  • Project Name
  • Principal Contractor 
  • Site Address 
  • Checked - Date and time the check was conducted
  • Site Address - Note that this is the address listed in RIW 
    • IMPORTANT: Note that this is the address recorded in RIW. Please confirm with your employer or a site administrator on the specific work location.


Worker Requirements will display the following information:


  • Subscription Status
  • Primary Employer Name
  • Annual Subscription End date - This is the date that your annual subscription expires
  • Card Status - Printed or Awaiting Print (note that if a card is waiting Print, please request a virtual card for site access)
  • Valid Until - this the expiry date of the card (separate form your subscription)

Network Requirements:

If applicable, Network Requirements are shown under Network Requirements.


These may be grouped as:


  • All of the following – You must hold all listed job roles/competencies


  • At least one of the following – You must hold at least one valid job role/competency in the group


There may be one or multiple groups, and all groups must be met.


Example:

A single required competency is held and valid. The amber Expiring Soon tag indicates that it will expire within 4 weeks.

Project Requirements:

If applicable, Project Requirements are shown under Project Requirements.


These may be grouped as:


  • All of the following – You must hold all listed job roles/competencies


  • At least one of the following – You must hold at least one valid job role/competency in the group


There may be one or multiple groups, and all groups must be met


Example:


One job role is required and will soon become invalid. In a second group, the worker must hold at least one listed job role. The system shows Requirements Met for the held job role

Site Requirements:

If applicable, Site Requirements are shown under Site Requirements.


These may be grouped as:


  • All of the following – You must hold all listed job roles/competencies


  • At least one of the following – You must hold at least one valid job role/competency in the group


There may be one or multiple groups, and all groups must be met


Example: 

A specific job role and one competency are required. The Valid Until date indicates when the job role will become invalid. The Next Key Expiry is the medical due to expire on that date

Status Explanations:

Valid – The job role or competency is held and is current with no upcoming expiry.


Expiring Soon – The job role or competency is held and valid but will expire within the next 4 weeks



Held & Valid – The job role or competency is held and currently valid (not expiring soon)



Alternate Requirement Met – The listed job role or competency is part of a required group, but another valid item in the group meets the requirement, so site eligibility is unaffected 


To confirm if grouping requirements are met, refer to the green indicator line next to the Requirements Grouping.
