Understanding the Site Eligibility Check - You DO NOT have authority to work at a site

The myRIW platform enables Rail Industry Workers to verify their Authority to Work at any RIW site. This is assessed by comparing the worker’s current profile information against the specific access requirements set for that site within the RIW system.

This article explains how to interpret the outcome of a Site Eligibility Check, where the worker is NOT AUTHORISED to work at the site. This is confirmed by the display of the following status:

This instruction applies to the following user roles:

Project Requirements:

If applicable, Project Requirements are shown under Project Requirements.

These may be grouped as:

  • All of the following – You must hold all listed job roles/competencies

  • At least one of the following – You must hold at least one valid job role/competency in the group

There may be one or multiple groups, and all groups must be met

Example:

One job role is required and is valid. In a second group, the worker must hold the listed competency, which is currently valid, but expiring soon. In the third grouping, at least one job role is required. The worker holds one job role in a valid state and as the two other job roles are not held by the worker, displays a status of missing but not required to satisfy the grouping validity, in grey indicating that the group requirement is met.

Site Requirements:

If applicable, Site Requirements are shown under Site Requirements.

These may be grouped as:

  • All of the following – You must hold all listed job roles/competencies

  • At least one of the following – You must hold at least one valid job role/competency in the group

There may be one or multiple groups, and all groups must be met

Example:

To meet the site requirements, two specific job roles and one competency are required. In this example, the worker holds both required job roles. The Valid Until date shows when one of the job roles is due to expire. The Next Key Expiry indicates that the worker’s medical is scheduled to expire on the same date.

However, the worker does not meet the mandatory competency requirement. The competency is listed as Missing, meaning it has either not been assigned to the worker or is not currently in a valid, verified state.

Status Explanations:

Valid – The job role or competency is held and is current with no upcoming expiry.

Expiring Soon – The job role or competency is held and valid but will expire within the next 4 weeks

Held & Valid – The job role or competency is held and currently valid (not expiring soon), with the valid until date shows or expiry where applicable.

Requirement Missing (grey) - The listed job role or competency is part of a required group but is not held by the worker. However, it is not required to satisfy the grouping, as an alternative requirement within the group has been met. Therefore site eligibility is not impacted by this requirement.

Requirement Missing (red) – The listed job role or competency is part of a required group and not held by the worker, but required to satisfy the grouping requirements, so site eligibility is affected

Requirement Invalid - The listed job role or competency is part of a required group and is not valid, which affects the worker’s site eligibility. This means the requirement must be met to satisfy the group. The reason for invalidity will be displayed, such as an expired competency or missing job role requirement level.
