Does a Rail Industry Worker card expire?


No. RIW cards do not expire. 

Your RIW card will remain valid as long as you are enrolled in the RIW Program and your annual cardholder subscription is current.


Why does my card show an expiry date of 31/12/9999?

Following the June 2026 update, RIW cards will still display a system expiry date of 31/12/9999. This is just a placeholder used during the transition period and simply indicates that no fixed expiry applies. This field will be removed in a future release.


When do I need a new card?
