How to use the Web Card Reader
The Web Card Reader allows an Access Controller to login and swipe RIW cardholders and visitor passes, select and award competencies (including pending competencies) and perform spot checks using a web based reader/browser. A Spot Checker can also log in to perform spot checks. Team features as seen in the Android and iOS RIW App are not available using the Web Card Reader.
The Web Card Reader can be used from any desktop, laptop or smart device with an internet connection.
This instruction applies to the following RIW System User Roles:
- Access Controller
- Spot Checker
Step 1: Web Card Reader link
Go to https://app.riw.net.au/ and click on Web Card Reader link at the bottom of the page, which will direct you to the Web Card Reader page. Alternatively you can reach the Web Card Reader direct at https://cardchecker.riw.net.au/.
Step 2: Accessing the Web Card Reader
You must be an Access Controller or Spot Checker to use the Web Card Reader function (please refer to the article How does a company assign an Access Controller or Spot Checker? for more information).
To access the menu for swiping, you can either use the existing built-in camera on your desktop/laptop/smart device, or, if you have a QR scanner gun attached, you can select that option.
On smaller screen devices, such as a mobile phone, the login screen is resized and the QR Scanner option is not available
