How a Rail Industry Worker can complete an eLearning course where no payment is required?

Some competencies are available to be delivered as an eLearning unit within the RIW System.  This article details how to access and complete assigned eLearning.


Note: Some eLearning courses may be sent to non-RIW cardholders. Please refer to our RIW Knowledge Centre article How does a company send an eLearning request to non-RIW cardholder?



This instruction applies to the following RIW System User Roles:

  • Advanced Project Admin
  • Employer Admin
  • Employer Admin - No Payment


Step 1: Click on the Course Link and Log in to the RIW eLearning System

When eLearning is assigned to you from within the RIW system, you will receive an email RIW eLearning Course Assigned - Action Required.


Alternatively, visit https://elearning.riw.net.au/user_login?tenancyId=1 and log in using your credentials.


Note: Your password for the eLearning system may differ to the password you use to access your myRIW account. 


Step 2: My Learning

Click on My Learning from the top menu.




Step 3: Navigate to Assigned Training

On the left-hand menu, select Assigned Training. You can also access this section directly from the homepage or via the homepage.



Step 4: Select and Enrol in Your Training

Locate the assigned training you need to complete. Click on it and select Enrol. If prompted with a confirmation message, click Enrol again.



Alternatively, select activity and the following message will appear. Select Enrol:



Step 5: Complete the eLearning Material

Engage with the course content as instructed. Once completed, a confirmation page will appear showing 100% Complete along with a link to download your certificate.




Note: Upon completion, a copy of your certificate will be stored under National Competencies on your RIW Profile.

Your completed course will appear under Training History for future reference.
