When is a new card required?
If you are new to the RIW Program.
An RIW card is issued when you are enrolled in the program for the first time, either through the RIW Card Application Service Request, or your Primary Employer.
If your card is lost, stolen or damaged.
If your physical card is lost stolen or damaged, contact your Primary Employer or complete an Update Existing Worker Service Request for a replacement.
If your photo has been updated or you have changed your first or last name.
In cases where the worker has changed their first or last name, or when the photo is updated, the Primary Employer would need to request a new identity check and then order a new card with the updated details.
In order to have Authority to Work and use your card, you would need to have a current annual subscription, a lapsed subscription will prevent site access even if the physical card is valid. Please refer to our article How does a company pay the annual cardholder subscription? for more information.
